Early in her acting career, she changed her name from Wang to Bennet (her father’s given name) after meeting with casting agents who said they couldn’t cast her as an Asian or Asian-American, but her last name also prevented her from being cast in white roles. I’m not saying you have to be super smart to follow along and enjoy this spectacular, offbeat production, but I do think that for curious people looking for plot twists that add up rather than mediocre entertainment, there’s probably no chance they won’t like “Interior Chinatown.” Since this is my 250th or so review, I’ve only rated it a 9 or higher about 35 times in ten years of reviewing on IMDb, which in itself says a lot.
Full marks for acting, direction, set design, and casting, but a chef’s kiss to the script writers for this exceptional idea that was seamlessly realized

It really managed to blend reality and alternative in such a unique way, directly showing our inner anxieties, regrets in life, and personal failures or ambitions with such clarity that you have no choice but to get swept up in such an entertaining and intricately woven story that turns out to be one of the truest stories ever told.
